Here We Are Again

Here we are again today!  We thought you might enjoy a little peek at our display gardens.
It has been a bit tough keeping our gardens the past couple of years because of the drought and extreme heat but thankfully with hard work and allowances from the city to water (because it is our business), we have been able to keep them nice.

We like to use a good fertilizer on our gardens to keep them blooming all season long.  Most people forget to give enough water and fertilizer.  Those are the keys to keeping your plants blooming and beautiful.

Be sure to vary your textures when you plant your beds.  It adds interest to the bed.

It is also a great idea to add a bit of junk to your beds.  It can be any style you like.  We use junk that gives our beds a nice country style such as the barrels.

We hope you enjoyed your little peek into our gardens today and we hope you will take the time to visit us here in Seymour.  We would love to see you!

We Still Have Pansies & Johnny Jumpups

We still have Pansies and Johnny Jumpups!

Aren't they beautiful?

Because we live in the South

We are blessed with these all winter long!

You can plant them in a bed to add color all winter.

Even when it snows they will keep on blooming.

They are also great in pots and planters.

So if you tend to get a little blue because of the lack of flowers in winter,

or you just want to add a spot of color

then we are here to help you.

We can even come plant them for you.

We already have several planters filled with them now so they would make a great Christmas gift for that person you still have on your Christmas list.  When you see that Pansy face below how could you say no?  Wouldn't that be a nice sight to have near your door during the gloomy gray days of winter?  We hope to see you soon!

It is Fall Planting Time

Did you know that Fall is the very best time to plant new beds &/or plants?

It gives the plants time to get established before they have to produce blooms.

They will be growing roots all winter long during the cold months of winter

This means that when spring comes they are ready to grow on the top too.

Which means blooms on the first year rather than the next.

Be sure to fertilize for the winter months with a fertilizer that feeds the root growth

It is also important to water during the winter months during dry spells

We do alot of flower bed cleaning in the fall

It is a great time to see something at full size that needs to be moved to a different spot

The cool weather helps to keep the plant from going into too much shock

which is what kills many plants that are moved

We have lots of new plants in the greenhouse right now

We also have a nice supply of deer corn

There isn't any reason your flower beds can't be beautiful all winter if you desire.

We have a huge shipment of pansies, and other winter time annuals

Be sure to stop by and see our new shipments

We also offer planting services

and we build ponds and water features

Fall is an excellent time to get a new water feature for your garden

It gives the water feature time to get established so it can be beautiful in the Spring

Remember to not throw out your leaves this fall

When they are chopped up they make excellent winter mulch that will feed your soil and protect your plants this winter

Need help planning your garden or with your other garden needs? We would love to help you with those.

We hope you will remember all our awesome gift items as well

See you around
James
