Here we are again today! We thought you might enjoy a little peek at our display gardens.
It has been a bit tough keeping our gardens the past couple of years because of the drought and extreme heat but thankfully with hard work and allowances from the city to water (because it is our business), we have been able to keep them nice.
We like to use a good fertilizer on our gardens to keep them blooming all season long. Most people forget to give enough water and fertilizer. Those are the keys to keeping your plants blooming and beautiful.
Be sure to vary your textures when you plant your beds. It adds interest to the bed.
It is also a great idea to add a bit of junk to your beds. It can be any style you like. We use junk that gives our beds a nice country style such as the barrels.
We hope you enjoyed your little peek into our gardens today and we hope you will take the time to visit us here in Seymour. We would love to see you!

We Still Have Pansies & Johnny Jumpups
We still have Pansies and Johnny Jumpups!
Aren't they beautiful?
Because we live in the South
We are blessed with these all winter long!
You can plant them in a bed to add color all winter.
Even when it snows they will keep on blooming.
They are also great in pots and planters.
So if you tend to get a little blue because of the lack of flowers in winter,
or you just want to add a spot of color
then we are here to help you.
We can even come plant them for you.
We already have several planters filled with them now so they would make a great Christmas gift for that person you still have on your Christmas list. When you see that Pansy face below how could you say no? Wouldn't that be a nice sight to have near your door during the gloomy gray days of winter? We hope to see you soon!

Projects
It is busy time at Feed and Seed Barn. We have new plants and garden items arriving all the time and we have several projects going on too. I thought I would share some pictures from a couple of our landscape jobs last year. We love doing landscape jobs and meeting the challenges that each project brings.

We can help you with beds that are surrounded by concrete which can cause your bed to be a hot spot and which can leach into the soil causing many plants to not prosper.

We can fill your large planters

and your smaller planters.

We like to offer a variety of textures and colors that will appeal to the eye.

Remember that your home or business will be much more welcoming with plants and flowers

There is something about living plants that puts out the welcome mat to others.

No matter if your needs are for sunny borders or shade we can help you at Feed and Seed Barn.

We have employees with knowledge of the plants and flowers ready to help you with your needs.

Remember we also have a complete supply of garden supplies both traditional and organic to meet your needs.

We also offer water garden supplies and many vet supplies as well.

We hope you will consider stopping by sometime

We love visitors at Feed and Seed Barn.

See you soon.

Fall Chores
It has been a good Summer here at Feed Seed Barn. I am a little sad to see Summer leave. I really like the warmer weather best.
Fall is a very busy time in the garden. It is one of the best times to prepare new beds. If you need to prepare a spot for a garden we keep Plant and brush killer in stock. Be sure to get it sprayed while the temperatures are still in the 70's and above.
If you have weeds sprouting in your lawn, you can still take them out with a product called Weed Out.
This is also a great time to battle the grass in your flower beds with Over The Top.
There is still time to plant your perennials so that they will be established next spring.
We have pansies, johnny jump ups, dianthus and some really nice mums in the greenhouse right now.
We also have planters filled with plants and ready for your fall display.
If you are in the area we would love it if you stop by and say hello
See you later!

I Like It Hot!!!
Things are slowing down now at the shop. It has been very hot outside with temperatures reaching well past the century mark. I enjoy the hot weather. I have been busy riding my bicycle in rallies all over the state. I am soon to compete in the Hotter Than Hell Bike Ride in Wichita Falls. When things get really hot outside then planting really needs to come to a stop (if possible) until the weather cools. Be sure to drink plenty of water when you work outside in the heat.

The West Beds in Full Bloom
We are still very busy here at Feed and Seed Barn. We have many projects that we are working on that we are taking pictures of to share with you. This is a picture of a red hardy hibiscus that we sell in the shop for $7.00 in a 1 gallon pot.
